Eli Beecher

Capt. Eli Beecher was born on Sept. 8, 1746 in New Haven, CT. His father was Capt. John Beecher and his mother was Mary Wilmot, born August 5, 1764 in Waterbury, Connecticut.

He married Susanna Kimberly on May 15, 1771 in the First Congregational Society in New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of Zuriel Kimberly and Hannah Hill. They had 5 children: Benjamin, Mary, Susanna, Sarah and Thaddeus.

He drowned in the New Haven harbor on May 5, 1789. he was buried in the Grove Street Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut.
