Adolph William Beecher ('Big' Bill) was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 27, 1893 to Edward Eunison Beecher and Mary Kuester.
He did not use his first name, Adolph, and was known as Bill. He had
a brother Edward who died young.
Bill served in World War I in the infantry and when he returned to Fort Dix he married Beatrice duBlan in 1919.
On September 1, 1921 they had an only son William Ward Beecher. At the time, A. William was working for Elliot Underwood, the typewriter company.

'Big' Bill died in Cornwall, Connecticut at the home of his son, 'Bill' Beecher on South Road in East Cornwall. 'Big' Bill had moved to Cornwall after his wife 'Betty' died in Brooklyn in 1969.
