Writing Workshops for schools
Want to create a writer's workshop? There are many places you can find helpful information.
Of course, one of the best ways is to be a model for your students. This is especially necessary at the younger grades, where children are not comfortable with the idea of writing.
We certainly don't want to create distress when teaching writing!
An example that works well is the journal. Teachers can get their students to create personal journals where they enter their thoughts and feelings. The more, the better, so having them do it every day is better than once a week! Here is a good source of information for 4th graders and journals.
