During Lizzy and my visit here in Westwoods, I hoped to add to the progress Clark, Jeff and Dolly have been making to move along some needed projects. I met with Norman and agree he appears to be a good resource for multiple projects. The roof repair has been solidified and will begin sometime in October. The Bathroom remodel thoughts are recorded here. Dolly and I have met and will propose the new materials through this site. Here are the basic components: Please provide thoughts so we can proceed with a formal estimate from Norm's Tile Guy. The goal is to have this done in conjunction with the roof repair.
1. Replace shower wall tile – Dolly wants to do up to ceiling. She also wants to retain the wooden window. I'm good with this. Replace shower pan
2. Replace all shower facets and towel holder. I propose to remove the one under the window as it limits mobility
3. Replace shower door with modern glass - we don't want to skimp here
4. Replace floor tile using bull-nose to wrap up to walls
5. Replace toilet with taller more conservative model
6. Leave pedestal sink with existing facet
7. Jeff proposed updating the lighting. I will suggest we do that at a later time after speaking with Norm. This is drive costs as him certified Electrician will come in and undoubtedly require a ground fault outlet in the wall. Problem is where the out is now is not on the same circuit as the lights - it connects with the bedroom. So I fear we would open up a can of worms as my Dad would say. If new overhead lights are desired, I suggest we install those ourselves at a later time.
Dolly and I will add suggestions to this site for feedback by all. I propose a cut off time of 8/31 for feedback and alternate suggestions.
Cheers, Robert
