The Big Idea:

Awareness of the reflective dimension adds impact and mindfulness to the moment.

Essential Questions:

    • How do you capture multiple dimensions in one image?
    • How does surface qualities contribute to the success of your images?
    • How does mindful awareness contribute to serenity?

Concept:

    • Serenity makes you want to sit back and soak it in.
    • Serenity is a mindful state of savoring the moment and seek ways to feel it more often.
    • Reflections are the consequences of the reflective qualities of a surfaces.
    • Reflection images are explorations of a simultaneous dimension.

Standards:

    • Choose and evaluate > subject matter and ideas
    • Reflect upon and assess > the characteristics and merits of both mine and other’s work
    • Make connections > between my art and other aspects of life

Goal: Create an album of at least ten images that utilize reflective surfaces and evoke serenity.
