While Mondly is an excellent app that’s uniquely designed, it does seem to fall short in some key areas. A paid subscription is $9.99 per month, or $47.99 for a one-year subscription to one language.  Compared to other online learning platforms, the cost for Mondly is pretty low. However, learners who want access to learning materials for all 41 languages will need to spend $479.99 for a one-year subscription.

If you’re not sure if you want to pay full price for a Mondly subscription, you can try to wait for Black Friday or watch out for other discount deals the company may offer periodically. In 2019, Mondly offered a hefty 95% discount on the cost of lifetime access to its courses. Unfortunately it looks like that kind of offer likely won’t happen again as the company described as a “once in a lifetime opportunity.” 

Other previous offers included a back to school sale that offered a 50% discount to help students brush up on their language skills before fall classes started again.

What does Mondly subscription do, exactly?

A paid Mondly subscription unlocks more lessons that are similar to what users get in the free version. It also gives users free access to Mondly AR, which offers more interactive language lessons. A paid subscription will also track learning progress to keep users motivated and on track.

Can Mondly make you fluent in another language?

Mondly will not make you fluent in another language, but it will help users who may want to review common vocabulary words in a more interactive environment than what flashcards can provide.

Mondly will likely get most users to an intermediate level of understanding of words and common phrases, but Mondly’s effectiveness is largely limited by the lack of grammar lessons.
