A major deliverables for our project this term is a QGIS map listing the various boat docks as part of a proposal by our sponsor, Vento di Venezia. This QGIS map will be based on photoshop renderings of each of the over 60 proposed docks by Vento di Venezia. Our group will take each individual dock and compile them into a single QGIS layer. By selecting any dock, the user will be able to see its location, the number of parking spots, the estimated cost, and other important information.
In order to utilize these docks and any two-hour parking spots mentioned in the post, “Isochrones and Two-Hour Parking”, there must be an app that will allow for a consumer to book a spot and for an authority to send a fine to those that are taking advantage of the system. We are not able to develop this app due to the time constraints of this project, but we are able to leave behind designs for how the app should look and documentation for how the app should function. At this point, we have created designs in Adobe Illustrator for this app.
