Upon your graduation from medical
school and after passing your
licensing and board exams, you
will need to be reappointed to the
Medical Corps (MC). The purpose
of this reappointment is to have the
Army recognize your education and
skills set.
Unlike your initial appointment to
AMEDD, in which you had a packet
submitted up to NGB and then big
Army (USAREC), your reappointment
is done within your state. Below is a
list of documents that you will need
to have in order to complete the
reappointment process:
1. A letter from your medical school
stating that you have completed all
requirements for graduation and will
graduate on a specific date. This
is proof of graduation in lieu of a
diploma or a professional degree.
This will be done by your state's
AMEDD Office, but it's important that
you are aware.
2. You will provide your state's
AMEDD Office with a certified copy
of your official college transcript.
(Make sure the transcripts do not
say "issued to student").
3. You will also provide your state's
AMEDD Office a copy of your PGY1
contract. Make sure that the contract
is signed by both you and the
institution.
