ASRs,
Good morning! For the ASR program to continue to be successful and to improve
on that success, we need your help. As AMEDD Student Recruiters, each one of
you is an ambassador for the ASR program and the Army Medical Department. As
mentioned in earlier emails, it is important to track leads and accessions
that you have helped bring and are going to bring into the ASR Program.
Attached is a lead tracker data sheet. This sheet helps the ASR Career
Managers and the National Guard Bureau track what ASRs have brought in other
ASRs. Additionally, these leads can help your states AMEDD Recruiter's meet
their mission.
While the focus is on using this sheet for future accessions into the ASR
Program, we would like you to fill out all the current ASRs that you have
brought into the program. With this data, we can get an accurate account of
how successful ASRs are in influencing other medical, dental and PA students
into joining the National Guard and the ASR Program.
Please let me know, if you have any questions regarding this sheet. Have a
wonderful weekend!

ASRs,
I recently received an email from LT McDougal (SD ASR) about the email I sent
out, "tracking your leads". He recommended I clarify a few points.
The Lead Tracker is important for two reasons. One, it creates leads for your
states AMEDD Recruiter and two it demonstrates quantifiable success of the
ASR program that the National Guard Bureau (NGB) can see. So, the leads you
generate should be shared with your state's AMEDD Recruiter and your NGB ASR
Career Manager (me).
Your state AMEDD recruiter may have a different requirement then NGB on how
often you send in your leads. NGB only requires you send them in quarterly
(end of MAR, JUN, SEP AND DEC). An effort was made to make the Lead Tracker
spreadsheet simple and easy to fill out. Understanding an ASRs current
workload, we are attempting to minimize the time required to work on it.
Again, your state AMEDD recruiter might require additional information. i.e.
phone numbers, email addresses, etc. Thank you and as always if you have any
questions, don't hesitate to call. Have a great week!

ASRs,
Recently, I received some questions asking for some clarification on the lead
tracker. Again, we can appreciate the amount of work ASRs have on their
plate. We don't expect you spend every extra moment you have beating down
doors for possible leads. The expectation is at some point in your day or
week you will have a conversation with your peers, current physicians, PA's,
NP's etc... about the Guard and about what you are doing. If they are
interested in hearing more, just turn their information over to your State's
AMEDD Recruiter, include the names you turned over on the Lead Tracker and
call it the day.
I have also heard, "They are not adding new ASRs. So, I don't really know who
to recruit." There are other incentive programs available, other then the ASR
program. We know you probably don't know all the incentive programs. That's
why you defer to the AMEDD Recruiter. The intent is not that you are a full
fledged recruiter, but by virtue of being a medical/dental/PA student you
will come into contact with current and future healthcare providers. However
many leads you generate is how many you turn in. This is not a sales job and
there is no quota for you unless dictated by your state. You will not receive
nasty emails from me because you did not create 40 leads a month. At the same
time, there is an expectation you help your state and local AMEDD recruiter.
I hope this sounds reasonable given your time constraints. As always, if you
have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Your feedback is
important.
