VA Pulmonary Consults
Residents will learn the fundamentals of the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of common pulmonary diseases including but not limited to, COPD, ILD, pneumonia, pneumothorax, asthma & reactive airway disease, lung cancer and pleural effusions. Residents will evaluate and follow patients on the Pulmonary Consult Service and spend time in the bronchoscopy and procedure suite at the VA medical center. The Pulmonary consult team includes an attending, fellow, residents and sometimes students. Residents are expected to 1) examine inpatient pulmonary consults and present them at daily consult rounds to the team; 2) In addition to pulmonary consults, house-staff observe various procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Fine needle biopsy of suspected lymph nodes and masses, Bronchioalveolar Lavage, Endobronchial Ultrasound Needle Biopsies, Thoracentesis, and other procedures.
Shands Pulmonary Consults

VA Pulmonary Clinic
Residents will learn the fundamentals of the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of common pulmonary diseases in an outpatient setting at the VA pulmonary clinic. Knowledge will be gained regarding the outpatient management of COPD, ILD, asthma & reactive airway disease, and lung cancer.
Shands Pulmonary Clinic
Residents will learn the fundamentals of the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of common pulmonary diseases in an outpatient setting at the Shand medical plaza. Knowledge will be gained regarding the outpatient management of CF, COPD, ILD, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, asthma & reactive airway disease, and lung cancer.

Pulm Conference, Tuesdays, 12pm
Pulm Grand Rounds, Weds, 12pm
Tumor Board, Friday, 7:30am
Pulm Research Conference, Fridays, 12pm
*Residents are still required to attend their continuity clinic, housestaff noon conference and department conferences unless approval is granted to attend the above conferences through direct communication with the Chief resident.
