This 2-week Allergy & Immunology elective is designed to provide residents educational exposure to the principles and clinical management of allergy and immunology. Each resident will develop an understanding of basic allergic and immunologic disease processes and how to initiate evaluation and treatment of those disorders. This will include but is not limited to asthma, eczema/urticaria/dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, various allergies (food, insect), anaphylaxis reactions, immunodeficiencies. The resident should also gain an understanding of when consultation with an allergist is indicated. This rotation is primarily an office-based rotation with a faculty allergist. However, residents may also participate directly in inpatient consults. Residents in the allergy and immunology rotation are also required to participate in other supervised patient encounters, discussion sessions with the attending, and required readings

• As this is an off-site rotation, residents will NOT be expected to attend morning reports and noon conference/Grand Rounds.

• Residents are expected to attend their full-day continuity clinics.
