Transition Monmouth Summer Reskilling Series Part 1, Sundays, Eatontown

Post date: Jun 21, 2013 11:15:25 PM

Starting Sunday June 23, 11-3, at Eatontown Farmer's Market (Rt 35 and West Street, Eatontown) with informal kick-off and banner making.

What's Reskilling?

It's about learning how to make/grow/fix instead of buy/throw out, a key part of building resilient communities. And it's a great opportunity to meet others who value sustainability...

June 23: Kick-off with making a Transition Monmouth banner. Bring your old jeans or other colorful textiles to add a letter or decoration.

June 30: Learn to prepare homemade citrus cleaner with Diane Burke and Lois Blake. Those orange peels have a use! Bring wide-mouthed container for taking home a sample. Questions: dburke.yoga@gmail.com.

July 14: Mushroom cultivation with Sean Walsh and Steve Letkowski. Have some branches laying around? Bring 'em. And/or save up your coffee grounds for a week or two. Questions: walshecodesign@gmail.com.

July 21: Textile repair with Doris Lin. Other sewers, crocheters and knitters who want to demonstrate their craft also welcome. Feel free to bring clothes in need of repair. Questions: email veganD@verizon.net.

Visit Us at Transition info table to hear about other Transition Monmouth initiatives, such as timebanking and a seed library; there will be kids' activities too!
