Sven Vath (Obertshausen,Germania 26 ottobre 1964)
E uno dei grandi pionieri della musica techno in Germania, definito il re della techno. Considerato come uno dei punti di riferimento nonchè uno dei padri della prima scena trance di Francoforte nei primi anni '90. Da anni appare nelle classifiche dei migliori Dj a livello mondiale e resta, dopo una carriera trentennale, uno dei maggiori nomi dell'elettronica mondiale e in questo ambiente viene soprannominato papa (papà). E proprietario dell'azienda CocoonEventMediaGmbh, dell'etichetta Cocoon recordings e del locale Cocoon Club di Francoforte ( piazzato al N°24 djtop100club).A 18 anni inizia a suonare alla discoteca "Dorian Grey" di Francoforte e si fa subito notare per l'abbigliamento stravagante e le esibizioni di ballo spontanee in consolle. Nel 1983 diventa resident del "club vogue" ed il suo stile passa da disco music soul e funk. Nel 1985 fonda il progetto OFF ed un suo singolo scala velocemente le classifiche di tutta europa. Nel 1987 torna al Dorian Grey dove inizia a suonare un nuovo genere di musica chiamata underground techno belga, noto come EBM(Electronic Body Music). Nel 1988 termina la sua attività con il Dorian Grey e va alcuni mesi ad Ibiza. Al suo ritorno compra un vecchio garage e apre il locale Omen che chiuderà nel 1998. Nell'estate 1990 Sven Vath passa dall'acid alla techno e sperimenta il nuovo sound all'Omen. Come Dj si esibisce in tutto il mondo e nel 1993-1994 raggiunge il successo commerciale con "An accident in paradise" e "L'esperanza". Nel 1997 crea l'evento Cocoon che viene proposto in diverse discoteche e successivamente fonda anche un etichetta con il nome Cocoon. Il 18 luglio 2004 Sven apre il Cocoon Club a Francoforte location esclusiva per il party altamente sofisticata sotto tutti gli aspetti, infatti pochi mesi dopo il Club è gia considerato come uno dei migliori locali al mondo. Il nome Cocoon ormai è sinonimo di qualità e ricercatezza sonora, infatti l'etichetta è una delle Top Label a livello internazionale ed annovera tra i suoi produttori gente come Villalobos,LocoDice,Anthony Rother,Dubfire(Depp Dish) e molti altri.

On the dance floor, he unites thirty-five-year-olds with fifteen-year-olds. However, besides his own career, the advancement of electronic music as such is of high importance to Sven. His Cocoon network is home to the booking agency Cocoon Artist Booking, the event agency Cocoon Events and the record label Cocoon Recordings – three very important components of the electronic music scene that are both innovative and independent. In Ibiza, the Cocoon events belong to the most successful parties for years, due to their sharp musical and artistic profile. In the year 2004, six years after the closing of the ground-breaking Omen club (whose artistic motor Sven Väth had been), he started a new era of club-life in Germany and opened the cocoonclub in Frankfurt, setting new standards in design, conception and music.
