1987
Injuries, Injuries, and More Injuries... Tough Year
The 1987 team endured a long season as injuries and defections took its toll. The team did have some standouts in quarterback John Tighe, and a defense that played hard behind Ryan Brain.
The team was undersized as went up against the heavyweights in WPIAL AAA football, but displayed the Jaguar tenacity throughout the year even as the losses mounted up.
Offensively, it was the John Tighe show, as he accounted for 8 of the 12 offensive touchdowns. The offense missed the presence of fullback Tom McMonagle and tailback Dave Richard who both missed many games with injuries.
Defensively, the first few games is the true indicator of what this defense was capable of, but injuries to the forementioned players and Don Turek hurt as the schedule became more difficult.
The team played hard, but were just simply out-manned in many of the contests and ended the season at 2-8.
