Jaguars Dominate, but Fall Short of Goal
The 1972 Jaguars fresh from the previous season's WPIAL championship loss had high hopes to return and secure the crown. The team returning 19 seniors that included 11 lettermen, and were picked by most publications to repeat as Big Ten champions and return to the AA championship game.
Undefeated throughout the season, until a loss to Monessen late in the season ended their championship aspirations.
