Session 25

Current Date – 2465ASE Xortus, Mulltor Withdrawl 6th (Nov 6, 2021)

Week 5 of Downtime

Qo attempted to heal Toofee with magic and found that Toofee reacted to the magic with a brilliant light, although there were no other known effects. The guards at the tabernacle were surprised by the strange light show and banned Qo from entering again.

Azia commissioned a custom scabbard for her dagger.

Daz continued to study the strange scroll.

Amber finished her plate mail armor.

Quint'zhal attempted to get the lyre repaired and discovered that it could not be repaired, or, perhaps it was refusing to be repaired. She also spent time and money planning a rave. Amber noted that they lyre seemed to be an exact replica of the symbol of Xorta from her bible.

At the end of the week, the group hosted a large city-spanning party. During the party, Johannes Drogan made an appearance and enticed Amber to a secluded spot so they could have a chat. Johannes apologized for sending a servant to watch over her family in secret. He also gave Amber some news about his father, General Drogan. Drogan I is in the Araksyl Woods and is going to war with the Hobgoblin Host and recruiting the fallen soldiers of the host into his own army. Apparently, General Drogan is raising this skeletal army to march against the zombie hoards of Orcus, the demon lord who has allied himself with Timore Ex Astrum.

Day 1 – With the group feeling recharged and rested from their downtime, they decided to head south to Monso City to investigate the activities of the Cult of Doto Lazen Rel further. On their way out of the city, they found that the cultists have a caravan ready to leave for Norbury carrying people whom they have converted. The group pretends to be “converted” and joins the caravan for a day.

Day 2 – while everyone was sleeping, the group took control of the cultists and, without bloodshed, convinced them to leave Jaubala without their converts. Amber gave them a message to deliver to Director Carmichael to leave Jaubala alone. The converts were told that Doto Lazen Rel was essentially a scam and that they were better off going back. Many of them did not want to go back to Jaubala and some of them just went off into the woods.

Day 3 – After disbursing the caravan, the group continued their journey south to Monso City. When they arrived, they re-explored the city looking for evidence of the “creeple” that had chased them away before. After a few hours of searching they found a group of creeple hauling a cart along the lake's shoreline. They fought the creeple and discovered that the cart was carrying a block of salt.

Following the cart trail to its source, the group realized that just a few miles out of town was a large salt mine. They fought more creeple guards outside the mine and went inside to explore. What they found was the mine was largely abandoned except for a single miner; Kobar.

Kobar told them that he came to Monso City because the cultists in Jaubala told him that there was another giant similar to himself already in the cult. He went in search of his clanmate and discovered that Doto Lazen Rel was keeping his brother, Abrion, prisoner. DLR then said that Kobar must mine the salt for him or he would torture his brother in hideous ways.

After a short meeting, Kobar had a headache and said that DLR was in his head. DLR knew the group was there and was sending more guards after them. The group left the mines quickly and evaded the guards, but, had to leave Kobar behind, for now.
