NFPA Emerging Issues

This program will cover the following topical areas:

1. NFPA Association Update – Discussion of Regional Operations Reorganization and changes to contacts, roles, and responsibilities.  We will cover new information about how to access individuals and what their primary responsibilities are

2. Updates to Public Education Programs –  

• An update on the Steps to Safety Program (formerly Remembering When), and how to deliver the program on a local or regional level 

• Fire Prevention Week in Review/Update

3. Updates on Code Development and Legislative Issues –

•  New Battery Standard Development

•  Standards currently under revision and how to be involved

•  Updates from NFPA’s Fire Marshal Forum and Building Officials Forum

•  Update from NFPA’s Single Stair Symposium and next steps

4. Update from IFMA Executive Secretary

•  Involvement of IFMA Chapter with Codes and Standards Development

•  2025 IFMA Chapters and Membership Meetings

•  IFMA Management Institute Updates
