Jeremey Criner is a Regional Director with the National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA), serving as the primary NFPA representative within his assigned region. In doing
so, Jeremey works to improve fire and life safety practices by engaging stakeholders,
identifying emerging trends, and delivering region-specific education programs. Chief
Criner is a distinguished fire service leader with over 20 years of experience in public
safety, emergency management, and organizational leadership, retiring in 2024 as a
Fire Chief in Arkansas. Jeremey’s leadership and commitment to excellence earned him
the Arkansas Fire Chief of the Year award in 2022.
In addition, Jeremey holds the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief Training Officer (CTO)
designations from the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), along with
graduation from the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer (EFO) program. He
has served in several fire service leadership roles, including President of the Arkansas
Association of Fire Chiefs and as a Governor-appointed member of the Arkansas Fire
Protection Services Board. Jeremey’s passion for mentoring and professional
development extends through his volunteer work as a peer reviewer for CPSE and
public safety consultant across the country.
