This course will dive into the changing built environment affecting our code officials with the changes to electrifying our homes and buildings, as well as the implications of building batteries and recycling
Objectives:
Review where incidents are occurring and difficulty with current model building and fire codes affecting the built environment
Review changes to codes and standards relative to lithium-ion batteries
Discuss best practices related to energy storage and other batteries used for power in our homes and buildings
Update best practices in buildings related to the storage and handling of lithium-ion batteries
