An engaging discussion on the acceptance and annual inspection requirements of NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 as they relate to "Swinging [fire] Doors with Builders Hardware." Students will learn when these inspections are required and why you should always request copies of these reports for both new projects and existing buildings. The presentation will cover allowable field modifications, discussing the most common areas of noncompliance related to opening protectives, and explore several innovations designed to help mitigate these issues.

Learn about the different versions of NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 and how to determine which version is adopted in their region
Gain an understanding of the 13 inspection points and their importance in maintaining the integrity of openings.
Learn the three occasions when a swinging door must be inspected and a report left for review by the AHJ.
Discover the various field modifications and repairs allowed for fire doors, including new products on the market that can mitigate noncompliant conditions without the need to replace the entire opening.
