Fire Chief, Northwest Consolidated Fire District - KS (Ret)

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Chief Whim began his fire service career with the Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Shawnee (KS) in 1985 before accepting a position with the Northeast Consolidated Fire District 2. Michael returned to the City of Shawnee as a career firefighter in 1988 climbing his way from Firefighter to attain the rank of Captain before his retirement in 2013. In 2017, Chim Whim was appointed as Fire Chief with the Northwest Consolidated Fire District in Johnson County, Kansas, and served until 2018.
Michael was a member of the Board for the Fire and Life Safety Section (IAFC) and served on the Fire Code Action Committee (FCAC).
