These are the run blocking coverages you will find in Tecmo Bowl. Players in a red box will have a blocker assigned to them. Most teams share the same running plays with another team, they are blocked in the exact same way.
Things to remember:
The Nose Tackle is always blocked on running plays no matter what defense you call
If you call a running play both safeties will be unblocked
The defensive end, outside linebacker, and safety will be unblocked on plays that run to the opposite side of the screen
Chicago
Run 1 vs. Run 2 coverage Run 2 vs. Run 1 coverage
Against CHI the middle linebacker on the OPPOSITE direction you called will be left unblocked.
Denver / Seattle
Run 1 vs. Run 2 coverage Run 2 vs. Run 1 coverage
Against DEN and SEA if you call a run play the top middle linebacker is unblocked and the bottom middle linebacker is always blocked.
Indianapolis / Cleveland
Run 1 vs. Run 2 coverage Run 2 vs. Run 1 coverage
Against IND and CLE whatever run you have called that runs at either middle linebacker will be unblocked.
New York / Dallas
Run 1 vs. Run 2 coverage Run 2 vs. Run 1 coverage
Against NYG and DAL if you call a run play the bottom outside linebacker will be unblocked and the top middle linebacker is always blocked.
Minnesota
