Flash block
From A. Ruzanov at my.opera.com
Brief instructions, adapted from FlashBlocker-info.txt in .zip file below:
Download FlashBlocker.zip and unzip anywhere.
Copy FlashBlocker.css to. in my case, ~/.opera/styles/user
Create directory ~/.opera/userjs and copy FlashBlocker.js and FlashBlocker-white-list.js there. Edit the latter as necessary.
Restart Opera, go to View > Style, and select Flash blocker.
Blocking the Meebo toolbar
From My Opera.
Briefly, go to Tools - Preferences - Advanced Tab - Content - Blocked Content, and add:
http://s.meebocdn.net/*
http://cdn.meebo.com/*
http://meebo.com/*
http://www.meebo.com/*
Windows with no tabs
During an upgrade, it became possible to open a new window with no tabs. I can't think of any reason when this would be useful. This option is found under Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Additional Tab Options under a checkbox for Allow window with no tabs. Now, new windows by default have the cursor in the URL field, with a Tab keystroke away from focusing on the search field.
