a.k.a. The Dennis Thomas Special

History:

Dennis Thomas left Brandeis University in 1997, and bequeathed me with various sporting goods, including a bald basketball, a southpaw firstbaseman's mitt older than I am, and a dead softball bat. The dead bat is good for batting practice, when there are too few fielders to efficiently shag balls hit deep. Mostly, however, it is useful for non-sports-related functions.

Here we "fix" a recalcitrant PowerMac.

Here Noreen solves an interpersonal problem by a more effective means than mere communication.
