KUALA LUMPUR: Sime UEP Properties Bhd will launch its newest township called USJ Height in the first quarter of next year targeting the high end niche market.
Managing director Jauhari Hamidi said the project, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM530mil, was located next to USJ 3 near the Taman Perindustrian township.
“We are tagging it as the last piece of freehold land in Subang Jaya. We are building about 700 units of super linked terrace houses, semi-detached houses and zero lots, as well as bungalows on 150 acres over three to four years.
"It will be a low density gated and guarded township focusing on lifestyle and security,” he said after the company’s AGM on Thursday.
Jauhari declined to divulge the price of the properties, saying Sime UEP was in the process of collating feedback from questionnaires sent out to 2,000 respondents to find out what their priorities for a township were.
Jauhari said Sime UEP had a land bank of about 8,000 acres, the bulk of which is in the Klang Valley, which would sustain the company until 2020.
“We are aggressively looking at acquiring more land for upmarket products like condominiums, serviced apartments, and commercial and retail properties,” he said, adding that the company had set aside RM200mil for this purpose.
