A thing on the Internet

On 5 January 2017, I gave a talk to the Atlanta Perl Mongers on my first foray into the Internet of Things. The talk starts with my decision to purchase the device and progresses through the code I wrote to interact with it. The slides from the talk are available for download in Acrobat (.pdf) format.
