Prevalence of Avellino Corneal Dystrophy in Korea

I have presented this work at a Research Seminar at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL (12 March 2009) and at The Second Corneal Dystrophy Research Institute Symposium at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea (14 June 2009). The talk describes a mathematical approach to estimating a lower bound on the prevalence of Avellino Corneal Dystrophy and presents a method to use census data to adjust the estimate for "hidden" cases. Estimates for Korea were presented in these talks.

If you are looking for the slides from either talk, you found the correct site. Unfortunately, I cannot post any of the slides until this work has been published. I presented a poster focusing on the methods used in this work at the 2010 ARVO meeting. That poster is available for download.

Revision history:

14 June 2009: updated to use 2005 census data; shorter version of presentation

12 March 2009: original presentation based on 2000 census data
