Close enough to Aiscapo to be extremely hot and sunny, Haesik-nim is covered with a thick layer of multicoloured plant and photosynthetic microbial life, so thick that valleys are sometimes filled half a kilometre deep with life. Although animal life is found here you won't find it on the surface. It's mostly in the form of large (elephant-sized), multilimbed, feathered creatures that eat the plant stems in the cooler shade under the matted canopy. There are very few carnivores. Meat-eaters tend to be dog-sized creatures that run in packs and tear pieces from the herbivores but don't kill them outright: hanging on to an elephant-sized creature that has lots of trunks to rub you against is not a good idea. Some of the plant defenses are dangerous enough that heading into the plant life is not recommended.
This planet is the garden of the system. It's close enough to Daebak that shipping all sorts of edible vegetable matter is fairly easy most of the time. The annual chemota harvest is short-lived (sort of apple-sized with a dimpled green skin and musky smell). Aiscapo University has a field station here staffed almost entirely with botanists.
There are two space stations in orbit. One (called Onsil) is a warehouse for plants and produce; it has many refrigeration units and storage space. Shuttles bring produce up here for the larger transports to bring to Daebak. The other space station, Chimsil, is where people live and ships are refuelled and repaired.

Daebak is Homeworld's main planet in the entire cluster and it looks it. Large cities with clean streets, skyscrapers, several space stations, and a heavy navy presence.
There are several space stations in orbit but landing on any of them is usually a reserved priviledge for the rich, politicians, or the military.

Although it's habitable, Juche is hardly comfortable. It's far enough from Aiscapo to be a bit chilly except where volcanoes threaten to pour molten lava on you, and the whole planet smells sulphrous. Anyone who's been here for long enough ends up carrying that smell with them, so it's pretty easy to tell who's come from Juche.
The planet was originally intended to serve as a source of metal ore for the system, but that's never really worked out. Mining operations have been plagued by magma bursting through walls and various other disasters. The people who settled here intending to make their living living as miners have ended up working hard just to survive. They've banded together to make it through and lately a charismatic leader, Rhee Ha-Neul, has taken the reins of power. Under Rhee Ha-Neul things are getting strange as the planet falls under the sway of a cult of personality and the ideology that humans will conquer all through force of will takes over.
Moon 1: (larger) Keun - Has a military base.
Moon 2 (smaller, irregular): Jageun - Has a small, crappy port with usual repair, refuelling, shuttle service. One of Maurice Clegman's secret ships (Clegship) is here.

The military presence here depends on how close Ungnyeo, the source of pirates, is to the gate.

The source of fuel in the system, Ungnyeo is also the source of pirates in the system. Its magnetic field is surprisingly strong and fluctuates enough to hamper sensors quite a lot and also gives unshielded electronic systems trouble. Pirates make heavy use of the rings and wealth of natural satellites to hide out and prey on ships coming to get fuel and the jump gate. The navy keeps a presence here but the pirates keep their activities low-key enough that it's not really worth it to mount a full expedition to deal with them, nor is it worth it to build a permanent base here given the magnetic strain on expensive military electronics. The pirates are called "dokkaebi" (mischievous spirits/goblins) which is confusing, as the next planet out has the same name.
There is an attempt going on to build a fuelling station here that can be defended, but there's a good chance that the pirates will attempt to sabotage the construction, as they did with the last two.

Type: Ice Dwarf
Atmosphere: Acidic (see below)
Moons: 1 moonlet
Rings: None
Gravity: 0.2
Orbit: 914 days
Day length: 27 hours
Axial tilt: 1 degree
The surface of Dokkaebi is covered with a thick layer of powdered ice that produces clouds at the slightest disturbance. Landing on the surface with anything but craft specially designed to minimize the pressure exerted on the surface will lead to the craft sinking below the surface. This wouldn't be so dangerous if the ice weren't so highly acidic. These acids are concentrated enough to keep the ice near its abnormally high melting point, so ships that land (who virtually always have a temperature higher than the planet) are often covered in liquid acid that is surprisingly dangerous. The clouds of acidic dust that are so easily kicked up aren't so bad, but they're not fun. You could get specially-designed hulls and EVA suits that can withstand the acid, at least for a while, but why bother?
