Meeting Thursday 6th January 2022

The meeting included:

Discussion on the 1921 Census. The discussion included content and searching tips for the 1921 census. One member provided the information, then circulated an extract detailing the tips.   • One member displayed details of recent discoveries as a CWGC volunteer. (CWGC War Graves week will run from 21 May. Tours of cemeteries including Nottingham Road Cemetery will be available, plus virtual tours)

  • The use of school attendance records for family information. (Spondon and Spondon Park Grammar School records have been deposited at the Derbyshire Record Office. (Note the 100-year rule applies to these documents.)

  • Discussion on whether to continue with website and providing content for the site. (Free entry publicising the group in the local C & C magazines is continuing.)

  • Discussion on events at future meetings

o next meeting will be a short presentation from those attending on a photograph or an object which has a strong family connection and its background

§ One member who has an interest in Military History, a useful Facebook group is UK Military Genealogy and Photograph Identification Group
