HOBBIES: Road Cycling-I ride a 2011 Trek Domane with over 70,000 miles on it. I got a nice 43 miles in this morning.

FAVORITE BASEBALL TEAM & WHY: I grew up in a rural region of New York state about 75 miles northwest of New York City. We lived across the street from the post office. The postal clerk was a woman in her early 60s-Fan Clark. She and I spent a lot of warm summer afternoons sipping Cokes and listening to Yankee baseball. Fan along with Red Barber and Mel Allen sold me on Yankee baseball

FAVORITE BASEBALL PLAYER & WHY: My favorite baseball player is Jeff Datz. He is the only student that I had, in 33 teaching seasons , to make it to the Majors. Jeff got 10 at bats with Detroit in 1989. The next spring training Jeff was injured and that was the end of his career as a player. Jeff went on to have a successful career as a major league coach and scout.

FAVORITE BASEBALL MEMORY: In what, I think was my second season of the WWBA, we had a combined National/American league draft about 20 miles from my home in South Jersey We were in a conference room on the top floor of the motel. In the middle of the draft the fire alarm goes off, sirens start blasting, you could hear people yelling and running around in the hallway. There is an announcement to evacuate the hotel. However, a number of GMs are hesitant to put the draft on hold. It was then that I realized that this nonsense was serious business

1ST MLB GAME YOU ATTENDED & WHEN: My first game was a Giant home Game at the Polo Grounds in 1951. I would have been around 8.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE WWBA?

Reading some baseball publication, I don’t remember the name, and it had an ad for a League looking for a GM.
