GARRETT HINTON

PERSONAL INFO:

NAME: Garrett Hinton

WWBA TEAM: Space Coast Aces

YEARS IN WWBA: 2

How old are you : 37

Family members : Yes, I have them

Line of work : Tourism, recently with the Government of Ireland for three years and now with Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. (but living in Florida)

Favorite Baseball Team: Atlanta Braves – family is from Atlanta area, and thus I had to conform

Favorite Baseball Player: Growing up, Tom Glavine, now hard to say really. Not much into the new crop of players, I’m basically a crotchety 85 year old man who likes how things were

Favorite Baseball Memory: Sid Bream slide, or Braves World Series Victory. We were essentially the Buffalo Bills playing the damn Cowboys in the Super Bowl Every year – it was nice to mix in a win.

1st MLB Game : Braves game at Turner Field, no clue who they played – I was a kid

How did you get into the WWBA: Anthony Mendillo begging me to, and I’m pretty sure it was because he needed a player or two from the team I inherited and he thought he could rip me off

What other leagues: A league that is now defunct, the RBA. Group of us in high school started this league offline and then took it to the internet when things got faster than dial up.

What you like/dislike about the league: Like, the depth of knowledge in this league. Dislike, the depth of knowledge in this league

Other pro sports you enjoy: As stated previously but about a different question, I find it hard to really love professional sports lately. I’d say college football, but that’s not professional. I find that when I scroll through TV channels and there is a tennis match on I’ll stop and watch. So, tennis?

Favorite Movie: Interstellar, Apollo 13, anything semi-historically accurate about space, WWII, and history in general

Type of music you like: Instrumental Classical, Opera, Broadway Musicals, and the occasional rock/alternative. Favorite bands would have to be Journey, Queen, AC/DC, Metallica and a bunch of others I’m sure that I have forgotten

Best book I’ve read: The Holiness of God, by RC Sproul

Any person living or dead I’d like to meet: A roundtable with CS Lewis, Aquinas, Augustine and Calvin

Words to live by: “Chance is no-thing”
