For the past few weeks during the school holidays, attendance amongst the mentors has been extremely low. It has been so low such that only 6 mentors attended last week's session at Beyond Self and most mentors did not inform the admin representatives, including myself, that they were not attending prior to the session. This may be because it is the school holidays for mentors, thus most are either overseas or swamped with work.
However, it is still a main area of concern since the number of children has increased greatly compared to last year. Thus, Beyond Self sessions require more mentors to volunteer such that we can cater to the needs of each child individually and have a better mentor-student ratio.
Hence, as an administrative representative, I had to seek the co-operation of the mentors and notify the mentors about this situation. I also had to re-enforce to mentors about the attendance marking system, in which I and other administrative representatives have created, since the lack of attendance for mentors will also affect the Beyond Self sessions conducted for the children negatively. Hopefully, attendance will improve after the school holidays.
