Created in the design of an open sunflower, the "seeds" shot torrents of water up to 150 feet into the air, forming sculptural forms. Timed to music recordings, the fountain put on a colorful display.

The fountain was renovated along with the Coliseum in 1995, opening up the bowl for visitors to play in the water on hot summer days.
