The U.S. Science Pavilion consisted of a complex of six buildings filled with science exhibits, united by a central courtyard featuring a pool and four distinctive arched towers. The building was designed by acclaimed architect Minoru Yamasaki, who later designed the World Trade Center in New York City.

After the fair, the Science Pavilion became the Pacific Science Center and retained several of the exhibits from the fair. All of the original buildings still remain. Since then, there have been many changes including the addition of two IMAX theaters. The Spacerium became the LaserDome, home to a variety of laser shows.
