Process to Adopt

So you wanted the bottom line for adopting from us. Well AFTER you read through the policies we go through these steps.

1. The prospective adopter come to the house and talk about what type of ferret, what their care is and what they are to expect. Our house is set up as if all the ferrets live with us permanently. We also have cages for viewing for different styles. Mostly right now I have Ferret Nation cages because they provide the best usage of my space.

2. After that visit, the prospective adopter evaluates their home for safety and which type of cage will fit best. Sometimes I have cages available but they are not always a good fit for the home they would go to.

3. Then we continue to discuss, email/text/call, the type of ferret(s) will fit in your household/lifestyle.

4. When a decision is made, we have you return to the rescue and pick up your new friends and sign the adoption contract. You must bring a secure carrier.

5. If you are a renter/leaser, then we need to see a copy of the lease so that we know that there are no restrictions on this pet. Or even the standard application of the complex.

6. Most of time a deposit to hold a particular ferret is not needed. We will courtesy hold one for one week.

NOTES

Remember we match ferret to household. We are not animal control, humane society or a pet store where you give us money and we give you the animal you think is "pretty".

All ferrets must be returned to us if the owner's life changes to where they can no longer care for the ferret(s). Regardless of time passed. Refunds available within 7 days.

All must be kept on an approved diet and allowed a minimum of 6 hours run time a day.

We do offer boarding to previous ferrets and as space allows, others that did not come from us. Generally a donation of food covers short term boards of a week or less. Longer boarding requires monthly food donations.

My visitation days are Saturday and Sunday's from 9 to 2.
