Biografi i relation til Sæby
Marit Benthe Norheim er undfanget i Teheran, født i Norge, boede i Iran og dernæst i Indien. Familien flyttede hjem da hun skulle i skole.
Marit Benthe Norheim har gået på kunstakademiet i Bergen, Royal Academy of Art i London og undervist der og Central/St. Martin School of Art.
Haft udstillinger i flere lande, har værker på Museet for Samtidskunds og Nasjonalgalleriet, Norge, Ny Carlsbergfondet i Danmark. Permanente udsmykninger i Danmark, Norge, Grønland, Island og Storbritannien.
I Sæby har hun udført skulpturen "Fruen fra Havet" ved indsejlingen til Sæby havn og er i øjeblikket (2008-2016) i gang med "life-Boats", tre 12 meter lange betonbåde, i samarbejde med blandt andre over 100 frivillige. De tre både skal søsættes i Aarhus i 2016 og rejse ni Norden og Europa i 2016 og 2017 som ambassadører for Europæisk Kulturhovedstad.
Biography in relation to Sæby
Marit Benthe Norheim was conceived in Tehran, born in Norway, lived in Iran and then in India. The family moved home when she went to school.
Marit Benthe Norheim has attended the Academy of Art in Bergen, the Royal Academy of Art in London and taught there and the Central/St. Martin School of Art.
Held exhibitions in several countries, has works at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Nasjonalgalleriet, Norway, Ny Carlsbergfondet in Denmark. Permanent decorations in Denmark, Norway, Greenland, Iceland and the UK.
In Sæby she has made the sculpture "The Lady from the Sea" at the entrance to Sæby harbour and is currently (2008-2016) working on "life-Boats", three 12 meter long concrete boats, in collaboration with among others over 100 volunteers. The three boats will be launched in Aarhus in 2016 and travel the Nordic countries and Europe in 2016 and 2017 as ambassadors for the European Capital of Culture.
