I am so glad you are here. Click on the above pull down menu to go to my class websites and assignment links. Below are calendars, bell schedules, class expectations for grading, homework, and behavior for all classes. Also included at the bottom are the Nevada Career Technical Standards for Graphic Design and Nevada Department of Education Standards for Art as well as Notice of Non-Discrimination and Web-Accessibility.
Students and teacher will treat themselves and all others with compassion, kindness, and respect.
All people, including the teacher, will give the day their best effort.
We do not expect perfection, but we do expect growth and the desire to learn. The art we create are artifacts of our growth.
You get extra credit for helping others learn; we are all learners and teachers.
Ask for help when you need it. Don't suffer in silence; the teacher is here to help you.
Respect everyone's need to learn and grow; only talk quietly.
Clean up is important! 1. Put all things away in the proper place, 2. wipe down the whole table every day, 3. ALWAYS wash your brushes and 5. Put your art in your portfolio in the correct period box so you can find it again.
Please clean your mug if you make tea and please offer to fill the tea pot when it is low.
No cell phone use without teacher permission. It will be allowed for researching art ONLY.
Grading in Art classes is based on the following:
Positive work habits - Positive & efficient use of daily studio/class time showing student growth. This is a job skill we are learning.
Finished assignments - Showing growth, willingness to improve, and attention to detail. There is a rubric for each assignment.
In both Art & Graphic Design, an assignment is not finished until the teacher says it is so please check with the teacher to see if it has met the requirements for handing it in.
All students are welcome to improve on an assignment to get a better grade if improvements are submitted one week before the end of the grading period.

ABOUT THIS SITE This site belongs solely to Rachel Robinson and not to the Washoe County School District. This is my personal resource and teaching site that allows me to access hundreds of resources I use for teaching art easily and quickly. I created this site on my own time and on my own personal computer. It has taken me years to compile this information together in one place. If you notice a problem with my site, please contact me directly so I can fix it. My school email is rachel.robinson@washoeschools.net.
