ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
VISION STATEMENT
The City of Rockwall should continue to build a diversified local economy by attracting and retaining businesses that can utilize the City’s existing highly skilled workforce and aid in the creation of a stable and resilient tax base. In addition, the City should look for ways to expand and develop its current workforce while taking a proactive approach in recruiting specific businesses that can provide the desired jobs, goods and services to residents in the community.

An implementation plan is the process of transitioning from the act of planning to application. To do this, the OURHometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan used the goals and policies established in each section of the document to draft implementation strategies, which are the necessary steps to implementing the community's vision. Below is a list of the implementation strategies for this section. The timelines associated with these implementation strategies are intended to guide staff's progress, and create a system of accountability that will lead to measurable successes for the community.
