- Run the alignments attached below through the RNAz webserver.
- You can predict which strand the predicted RNA is on using RNAstrand.
- Download an alignment for your favourite family from the Rfam database in gapped-fasta (XMFA) format.
- Run this through RNAz webserver, is it classified as an RNA?
- How does the predicted structure compare with the Rfam structure?
- For advanced users, find an interesting conserved region in one of the UCSC genomes or microbial genomes.
- Download a MAF file for the region using the Table browser
- Upload the MAF formatted alignment to the RNAz server.
- Is it classified as an RNA? Write the Nature, Science and Cell papers, be sure to add myself and Stefan Washietl as an author.
