Computer
The first computer I ever worked on was in college. We used 100's of file cards. We were amazed how the huge computer (it took up 1/4 of the room), could spit out answers to our complex questions, almost instantly. We only had to wait a few minutes.
My next computer was a dual-floppy in my law office in the early 1980's. This computer revolutionized how we did business. We could put forms and just fill in the blanks; it could spell check; we could balance our law office's books. Then, came the smaller disks. I recall thinking, "I will never fill one of these up." (HA, HA).
As an attorney at West Publishing company, I came into my own as a knowledgeable person with computers. I conducted legal research and helped 1000's of attorneys over the telephone. I helped the first networking of computers. I helped move the department's computers from Windows3.1 to Windows 95. We started using CD Rom to store and disseminate information - cheaply. I began mastering the many software programs. I still understand today.
Finally, at Century and in Minnesota, I have come into my own and am recognized as someone who is a master of the computer. I went to a sister MNSCU school to teach them about eFolio and my name-tag had "Guru" below my name. I have presented at several conferences on eFolio. I have taught at many MNSCU colleges, teaching them about eFolio. My personal eFolio is showcased at eFolioMN on their "Showcase of Excellent eFolio Sites" for many years.
