The Ontario Medical Association has just released a policy paper, "Enhancing cycling safety in Ontario", that advocates a greater role for government in the promotion and facilitation of cycling. No problem with that except that the paper's authors have drawn on all the old myths about safety of segregated bike facilities and have proposed solutions to perceived problems not real problems. Lip service is paid to the the need for skills acquisition by cyclists before they start mixing with urban traffic.
The paper can be found in RCC's Reference Material
