Congratulations to all the participants in the 2013 Region IV Science Fair. Once again the students of Massachusetts have shown that the passion for science, innovation, knowledge and understanding is thriving in the Bay State. The top 40 participants win prizes along with the opportunity to move on to the State Science Fair at MIT. The overall winner and top 40 projects are listed below.
This year's winner is Erica Budina from Medford High School with her project
"The Effect of Chemical Crosslinking on Mechanical and Structural Properties of ECM-Fibrin Scaffolds"
This is the 2nd time Erica has finished First Place at the Region IV Science Fair. She also tied for 1st with Eugenia Kim in 2011 as a freshman and placed 3rd last year as a Sophomore in 2012. It is obvious that there is no limit to what Erica can and will accomplish ... and she is only a Junior. We look forward to seeing her back again next year to compete against all the incredible science talent that makes up the schools of Region IV.
