2011 Winners

Congratulations to all the participants in the 2011 Region IV Science Fair. The top 51 participants win prizes, with the top 41 going on to the State Science Fair at MIT.

For the first time in Region IV history, we had a tie for first place at the end of the day. After exhausting all of our tie-breaking measures, a project from Medford and a project from Lexington remained dead equal. Luckily they will both be moving on to the next level at the State Science Fair as well as automatically qualifying for a trip to Los Angeles to compete on behalf of the state of Massachusetts and Region IV at the International Science and Engineering Fair.

The two overall winners and top 41 Projects are listed below.

This year's co-winner is ERICA BUDINA from Medford High School with her project

A Quest for a Stronger Homemade Bioplastic: The Effect of Natural Additives on the Tensile Strength of Homemade Bioplastics

and

This year's other co-winner is EUGENIA KIM from Lexington High School with her project
