Bios are a brief summary (about 200 words) of the member's background, qualifications and experience.
All other experts are listed with names only.
Include the expert's preferred name.
Include gender-neutral titles – for example, Dr or Professor – but generally avoid gendered titles – for example, Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss – unless the expert specifically requests it.
Include the names of any institutional affiliations, using the style approved by the institution:
Australian National University
Monash Medical Centre
Murdoch Children's Research Institute
Include the abbreviation of the qualification approved by the conferring institution:
Psychologist, speech pathologist; MPsych (Educational and Developmental), BAppSc (Speech Pathology)
Psychologist; BBSc, GradDipAppPsych, MPsych (Counselling)
For example:
Dr Philippa CollinSenior Research Fellow, Institute for Culture and Society, Western Sydney University; BA (Hons), PhDThe bio narrative is written in the third person and is approximately 200 words in length.
The first paragraph usually begins with the expert's first and last name. After that it's acceptable to use the first name only. Professional and other titles are usually excluded from the body copy.
The next 2-3 paragraphs include recent roles, publications and experience that are most relevant to raisingchildren.net.au.
If there is space, career background can be included in a final paragraph.
