The QWI Historical Site
(formerly The QWI Cairn Site)
The QWI Cairn was installed at Dunham, the birthplace of the Quebec Women's Institutes.
On July 15, 1964, a special ceremony was held at Dunham when the plaque was unveiled by Mrs. McElroy, Charter Member of Dunham WI.
Mrs. Gordon Brown, daughter of Mrs. Beach, read the minutes of the first meeting and Mrs. Harvey gave a history of the WI.
Greetings were given from Mr. Glendon Brown, M.L.A., Mr. J. J. Bertrand, M.P.P.Q.C., Mme P. C. LeBeau, Department of Agriculture and representative from the Historic Sites and Monuments Board. Read more.

New at the QWI CAIRN SITE
The new granite monument was in place for the 2024 Remembrance Day ceremony.
The dedication of the new monument will take place during Convention 2024

Quebec Tartan
The Minister of Canadian Heritage officially declared April 6 as 'National Tartan Day'.
Linda Janes Ryan, president of Chateauguay-Huntingdon County is working with her MNA office to have Quebec officially recognize the Quebec Tartan.
