Alex has included some new ideas for the club:
1. encourage people to get their Foundation License(dead easy since it's aimed at high school kids) and then include a short radio chat in the meeting just to make it different. Or maybe even a new RADIOCLUB SIG under SPCUG. Need to buy a ham radio for this.
2. Alternatively we could buy UHF CB radios instead and talk thru repeater. We could assign our own radioclub callsigns just for fun.
SYD01(Hurstville) Channel 1 repeater output 476.425Mhz/Channel 31 repeater input 477.175Mhz

3. Flightsim club! I'm willing to conduct flightsim training and flying fun for club members, maybe 2 hours each Sat or something? While it can be done via Zoom, it'd be more convenient to meet in SMSA or at pub library but everyone needs to BYO gaming laptop/PC. Once training is over, we can fly from home and meet in an online system such as Warthunder. Warthunder is primarily an online WW2 arcade sim but you can setup private sessions with invites-only flyers. Then you can do your own thing - fight, ground targets, formation flying, aerobatics, training, etc. Flying together as a squadron is actually great fun and you can team up against bots. Landing on a carrier is hard!
