April 2020 Meeting Report

Zoom Meeting!

Present: Geoff, Alex, Anthony, David, Bob, Andrew.

Welcome back to Geoff Allen!

Geoff showed an Arduino Mega2560 experimenter's board he made consisting of various components like leds, mosfets, relays, etc pre-wired for quick and easy prototyping.

Here's a standard Mega2560.

Alex showed additional Tooltips and a method of converting a 5V Arduino Nano to run on 3.3V.

Also spoke about Sticky Notes in Windows 10.

Andrew mentioned an Arduino Uno board he purchased for testing, spoke about the Green Array machine and Forth, HP1000 instruction set, PDP-11 and an interesting TV documentary on astrophysics.

David showed a working laser tag gun he found for another special-effects project.

He is currently working on restoring a 3D printer.

Bob discussed superstring theory, the number of dimensions in mathematics and the tessaract( four-dimensional analogue of the cube).

Anthony led a general discussion on topics including coronavirus pandemic, monetary rescue policies, debt implications for future generations, physics and FPGA.
