Do I take the medication with or without food?
The official recommendations vary:
- In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends taking Truvada "with or without food."
- In Europe, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommends taking Truvada with food.
These recommendations are the same whether you take brand-name Truvada or a generic equivalent. Whichever works best for you is fine. The medication will work either way.
