Why do some bottles contain only 245mg of drug when other bottles have 300mg?

Drug manufacturers label Truvada and generic equivalents differently in different countries in keeping with local government regulations.

In some countries, the label shows that the tablets contain 300mg of "tenofovir disoproxil fumarate”, while in other countries the label shows 245mg of "tenofovir disoproxil." These are two different ways of writing the same thing: the dose of tenofovir is the same either way. In other words, you get the same amount of tenofovir and the same level of protection from HIV.

There is no need for concern about these differences on the labels. Even though the numbers are different. you get the same protection from HIV whether you see 300mg or 245mg on the label.
