Outlook

Janis can score the basketball. She shoots the 3-point shot with accuracy, 41.1% during the 2014-2015 season when she earned 1st team All-American status. She also has the ability to create baskets off the dribble, able to finish with either hand. Janis is able to score in the post with a variety of moves. Her ability to finish with either hand combined with her ability to run the court allows Janis to be especially explosive in the open court and in an uptempo game. Janis is a versatile player, capable of playing multiple positions with her length while creating match-up problems for opposing teams. In addition, her length allows her to defensively disrupt opposing offenses with her shot-blocking ability and her ability to play the passing lanes, gaining possessions for her team and often times converting these turnovers to points for her team. Janis is a solid team player and uses her length to be a good rebounder on both ends of the court.

“Janis will give us great position flexibility and gives us more scoring and length on the perimeter,” UNT coach Mike Peterson said. “She is a long athlete who can run score and make threes. She can also cover ground defensively. She has a really diversified skill set.” “She is a very versatile player who can score in a variety of ways “
